Manissa M. Maharawal holds a doctorate in anthropology and is an assistant professor of anthropology at American University. She has worked with the Anti-Eviction Mapping Project in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2013 and she co-founded the oral history wing of AEMP, The Narratives of Displacement and Resistance Project.
