The fact that Brock, founder of Remote Area Medical, who for years brought medical care to remote areas of South America, is now devoting 60 percent of his efforts to airlifting heath-care professionals and medical supplies to Appalachia and other areas of the richest country in the world, the United States, is a shocking testament to our elected leaders’ failure.
Please absorb what you see in this video: Americans in the 21st century driving 200 miles and spending the night outside to queue up for long-deferred treatment for acute medical problems and illnesses. Young people with mouths full of rotted teeth.

The idea of “righteous indignation” really struck a chord with me after reading about Stan Brock’s work. It’s powerful to see someone channeling that feeling into such tangible action, especially with the Remote Area Medical program. It makes you wonder what we could accomplish if more of us were moved to act on the injustices we see. I appreciate the reminder that passion can be a driving force for positive change.
