Since 2023, he has volunteered with the Asian Community Care Organization in New York City, helping Chinese-speaking seniors navigate the housing application process. This commitment earned him the U.S. Presidential Volunteer Gold Service Award. He has also studied urban displacement, housing policy, and refugee issues through programs at Harvard University and other institutions.
