Have you heard of Stan Brock?

If not, watch the video below — it will help you to work up a good ration of righteous indignation as we head toward the presidential election.

STAN BROCK BRINGS HEALTH CARE TO AMERICANS WITH REMOTE AREA MEDICAL PROGRAM from R2 Studios on Vimeo.

The fact that Brock, founder of Remote Area Medical, who for years brought medical care to remote areas of South America, is now devoting 60 percent of his efforts to airlifting heath-care professionals and medical supplies to Appalachia and other areas of the richest country in the world, the United States, is a shocking testament to our elected leaders’ failure.

Please absorb what you see in this video: Americans in the 21st century driving 200 miles and spending the night outside to queue up for long-deferred treatment for acute medical problems and illnesses. Young people with mouths full of rotted teeth.

Once the adrenaline is flowing, let’s channel our collective energies into the mighty stream of action the prophet Amos invoked.

With concerted effort, we can make the kind of change in the November election that consigns Brock’s missions of mercy to the “Believe It or Not” archives.

Angled staircases on either side lead up to the first floor. On the lawn, trees in leaf frame the portico on either side. The photo has an eerie red tint.

  • Inside a framed peaked-roof house, four people are working. One is laying two-by-fours on the floor to frame a wall; one is using a table saw, and two are standing at the far wall looking at something out of camera view. Out the large doorway (which has no door yet) can be seen a house across the street, and piles of lumber.
